Jose Mourinho believes his team have made a huge leap forward this season.

With three league games remaining, the first of which is against 
Liverpool this afternoon, the Blues have already secured the Barclays 
Premier League title in the manager’s second season since returning to 
the Stamford Bridge helm.

Last term we finished in third place with 82 points. It is a figure we have already usurped with nine still to play for and <a href="http://thechelseaofficial.blogspot.com/search/label/Mourinho" target="_blank"> Mourinho</a> considered that fact and also revealed his thoughts for his and the club’s future.

‘We have improved,’ the boss said. ‘We have gone from third to first –
 two very important steps, and probably the most difficult steps. The 
most difficult step is the one that makes you champions, and we have 
made that step.

‘I want to develop this team. I didn’t stay at Inter or Real Madrid 
because I didn’t want to stay. I want to stay here,’ stressed <a href="http://thechelseaofficial.blogspot.com/2015/04/jose-mourinho.html" target="_blank"> Mourinho</a>. ‘That is why I am in Mr Abramovich’s hands.

‘He has no pressure. He doesn’t need to give me a contract tomorrow, 
he doesn’t need to give me more money, and he doesn’t need to be worried
 a club are knocking on my door.

‘While he wants me, I am staying, and when he doesn’t want me, I am going. It’s so simple for him, and also so simple for me.’

Even though we have already wrapped up this season’s league title, the third of <a href="http://thechelseaofficial.blogspot.com/search/label/Mourinho" target="_blank"> Mourinho</a>’s
 Chelsea career, our manager knows every game matters. He has evidence 
to prove it and it is why he is so keen to continue our terrific form 
and end the season on a high.

‘The only thing Crystal Palace [last Sunday] didn’t do was send the 
goalkeeper forward for the last corner. They were playing a final, like 
it has to be.

‘Watford lost the title against a team that didn’t need anything 
[Sheffield Wednesday]. They went to Watford and in the last minute they 
scored a goal and celebrated like they had won the title. This is 
football.’

Jose Mourinho has suggested it will be impossible for him to 
stay as Chelsea boss for the rest of his career, as he believes the days
 of managers spending decades at one club are gone.

Mourinho is reported to be close to signing a new contract with the 
club he has guided to this season's Premier League title, but he 
suspects he will not have the kind of extended spells at the helm that 
Sir Alex Ferguson had at Manchester United (26 years) and Arsene Wenger 
(18) is currently enjoying at Arsenal.

"It is impossible in football, impossible in modern football," 
Mourinho told reporters when he was asked whether he could see himself 
staying at Chelsea for a decade and more. "I think it's very, very 
difficult for that to happen.

"I want to stay here, that is why I say I'm in Mr. Abramovich's 
[Chelsea owner] hands. He has no pressure. He doesn't need to give me a 
contract tomorrow, he doesn't need to give me more money.

"He doesn't need to be worried that some club is knocking on my door,
 he doesn't have to be worried about anything. It's just him. When he 
wants me, I am staying. When he doesn't want me, I am going. So simple 
for him, so simple for me.

"I didn't say this when I was at Inter because I didn't want. I 
didn't stay at Real Madrid because I didn't want. Now I want to stay. 
This is clear."

Mourinho's side are set to take on Liverpool in the Premier League on
 Sunday, with the Chelsea boss insisting he has no additional motivation
 in games against the Reds, despite many years of often heated battles 
with the Anfield club.

The Portuguese tactician still laments what he describes as "the 
ghost goal" that allowed Liverpool to claim a controversial Champions 
League semi-final win against his Chelsea team back in 2005, when Luis 
Garcia's effort was allowed by the match officials despite suggestions 
the ball has not crossed the line.

The animosity between Chelsea and former Liverpool boss Rafael 
Benitez, who later managed at Stamford Bridge, was sparked by his 
numerous verbal tussles with Mourinho, with the Blues boss acting as 
party-pooper-in-chief as his side effectively ended Liverpool's dreams 
of a Premier League title win with a victory at Anfield last April. 
 
Mourinho has dismissed the theory that he gets an extra ounce of 
satisfaction from beating Liverpool ahead of his latest meeting with the
 Merseyside giants on Sunday.

"No, not personal. Not at all," Mourinho stated before he reflected 
on his side's success in halting Liverpool's push towards the Premier 
League title last season.

"I think people wanted them to win the title because they haven't for
 a long, long time," he continued. "A giant club like Liverpool has a 
lot of supporters. It is not a club where the support just comes from 
Liverpool area.

"It is a national club, a worldwide club so it is normal people want them to win titles. It is normal."

Meanwhile, Mourinho chuckled when he reflected on the plane that flew
 over Anfield last weekend carrying a banner calling for Liverpool 
manager Brendan Rodgers to be sacked, as he joked he would take down any
 plane carrying a banner calling for his removal from Chelsea.

"Some guy is spending money on the plane," he added with a chuckle. 
"If one plane comes to Stamford Bridges comes saying 'Jose Out', I send a
 drone!"

 Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is already planning to strengthen his 
all-conquering squad of Premier League champions and he has targeted 'a 
couple' marquee signings to turn his champions into a dream team. 
 
 
The runaway league leaders will be confirmed as champions if they 
beat Crystal Palace at Stamford Bridge on Sunday, yet serial winner 
Mourinho is already eyeing up improvements to his team for next season. 
 
Mourinho has only used 22 players in a wonderfully consistent Premier
 League campaign that is certain to end in glory and he is keen to keep 
his squad number tight while continuing to add to their quality. 
 
"We need a couple of players to give more strength and depth to the 
squad," believes the Chelsea boss. "We want to keep the same number of 
players and have a more uniform group in terms of not quality but 
experience, to give us that little bit of extra in case we progress in 
the Champions League." 
Mourinho went on to hint he may look to bolster his forward line, in a
 season that has seen lead striker Diego Costa struggle with injuries 
and back-ups Loic Remy and Didier Drogba also spending time in the 
treatment room.

Chelsea's exit from the Champions League at the last-16 stage ensured
 they could get through the season without a major injury crisis, but 
Mourinho wants to ensure he does not leave himself short next year. 
 
"The group of the strikers did very well for us, but I just imagine 
that it is something we can do in a different way," he added. 
 
"I just imagine this last period of the season only with one striker.
 Imagine in this moment if we have only had Didier to play Champions 
League, Premier League, Champions League, Premier League. It would be a 
difficult situation. 
 
"We were unlucky to have two strikers injured at the same time. When 
you have three, one can be injured or suspended, but when you have two 
out it can be difficult." 
 
Mourinho has confirmed that Costa may not play again this season as 
he continues to nurse a hamstring injury, with Drogba's future at the 
club set to be resolved this summer when the veteran striker discusses 
his future with Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich.
