Born on 19 May 1996, Jhoao Rodriguez is a young striker from Cali in Colombia who signed for Chelsea from Deportes Quindio, a club in his homeland, having begun his career in the Colombian lower leagues.
He impressed at the 2011 South American Under-15 Championships and has continued to represent Colombia at junior international level. He participated at the prestigious Toulon Tournament this summer.
He joined French top-flight club Bastia on loan for the first half of the 2014/15 season, before switching the loan to Vitoria Setubal in Portugal.
