Jose Mourinho insists Chelsea have no intention of selling Oscar this summer, while he claims Juan Cuadrado will have a “fantastic season” in 2015-16.
Oscar has been heavily linked with a move to Juventus in recent months following a mixed season at Stamford Bridge, with the Brazilian reportedly deemed expendable by Mourinho.
However, Oscar revealed in an exclusive interview with Goal on Thursday that he intends to remain at the club for the foreseeable future, and Mourinho has now poured scorn on suggestions that the 23-year-old could leave Stamford Bridge.
"Of course [he isn't leaving Chelsea]. He just signed a contract a few months ago. He's one of the players with the best contract, a long-term contract,” he told reporters. “A boy at 23 that Chelsea bought three years ago. Obviously we don't want to sell."
Cuadrado, meanwhile, was signed from Fiorentina in January in a £26 million deal but has thus far struggled to dislodge Willian from the starting XI, and has yet to complete 90 minutes in a blue shirt.
Mourinho, though, believes the winger will hit top form next season, and has put his early struggles down to the difficulty in adjusting to life in England.
“It is different to play in Italy than England and different to play for Chelsea than Fiorentina,” he said.
“The player needs time and I am ready to give him time and it looks like he’s ready. I really believe that next season he will have a fantastic season."
